IIA Singapore AI Survey Launch – “Unveiling Insights, Navigating Risks”

Event Recap | 21 March 2025

Nexia Singapore was honoured to sponsor and co-host the official release of the IIA Singapore AI Survey at an in-person event held on 21 March 2025, titled “Unveiling Insights, Navigating Risks – IIA Singapore’s Survey on AI.” The event was jointly organised with IIA Singapore and supported by 11 other organisations, bringing together professionals across governance, risk, audit, and technology domains.

The survey findings provide valuable insights into how organisations, their internal audit and corporate governance functions, are approaching AI adoption, governance, and risk management—an increasingly critical area in today’s evolving business landscape.

The event opened with a welcome address by the Executive Director of IIA Singapore, Richard Dyason who set the tone for an insightful afternoon of learning and dialogue. This was followed by the presentation of the survey findings by Uantchern Loh, Chairman of Black Sun APAC, providing timely perspectives on how organisations in Singapore are managing AI-related risks and opportunities.

Nexia Singapore’s Director and Head of Governance, Risk & AI governance (GRAi), Edwin Hooi delivered a keynote presentation on the governance implications and emerging challenges associated with AI, highlighting the importance of proactive oversight and ethical frameworks in AI deployment.

We were also proud to have our Chairman, Paul Tan, represent Nexia Singapore as a panellist in a lively and insightful panel discussion moderated by Uantchern Loh, APAC Chairman of Black Sun Global, which addressed key topics including AI development, deployment risks, accountability structures, and the future of AI governance together with the following esteemed panellists:

  • Cherrie Ong, Executive Director, Group Audit, UOB
  • Tony Tay, Founder & CEO, AgileAlgo
  • Zi Wei Yap, Director, Investors & ESG Communication, Black Sun Global

We extend our sincere thanks to IIA Singapore, all supporting organisations, and the attendees for contributing to a highly engaging and forward-looking conversation.

As AI continues to reshape industries, Nexia Singapore remains committed to advancing best practices in governance, risk, and responsible AI adoption.
